Salford City Reds' very own award-winning cheerleaders, The Red Hot Flames were born in October 1996. After trials at The Willows had brought in a marvelous standard of dancers, the squad was eventually trimmed down to the original 20 girls.
Having already scooped top spot in cheerleading competitions across country, there is little doubt that no other Super League club can hold a candle to the Flames!
Being a Flame certainly can't be classed as easy work though, with the girls training three or four times a week, often in atrocious conditions This helps to get them in shape for their performances on a rain-soaked pitch during that April downpour that we all know and love.
It's this kind of effort that has earned them the utmost respect from even the most difficult to please supporters, with often the biggest cheer of the afternoon following their half time performance
Now the Red Hot Flames can be seen performing at charity events all around the country, as well as at every City Reds' game at The Willows.
Head Coach Suzanne Roberts also runs the junior Flames project - the Salford City Reds Firestarters. These youngsters get the chance to train with the Flames' squad and also take part in the odd half-time extravaganza, featuring over 50 dancers.
So if you're interested in joining the Red Hot Flames or the Firestarters, and becoming part of the fastest growing phenomenon in Super League, just contact the club and we'll be pass on the details.
