Name:         Lyndsey McLoughlin
DOB:           01.05.85
Age:             21
Job:             Diagnostic Radiographer (Hospital: x-rays, CT scans, ultrasound etc!)

I joined the Red Hot Flames 9 years ago in 1998 as the youngest Flame dancer (at the tender age of 12!) and have rarely missed a Reds home game since. I am now the dance choreographer for the team and am extremely proud of all we have achieved.

Why do I like being a cheerleader?    First of all, I just thoroughly enjoy dancing.  My family and I are big fans of the Salford Reds and love coming to the games and cheering the team on.  We are a very close friendly team who socialise together outside of cheerleading and keep each other motivated through wind, rain and shine on match days.  Training sometimes feels like a social event!

Favourite Drink: Malibu and diet coke or white wine
Favourite Food: Garlic bread!
Favourite Music:  Bit of everything
Favourite Bar: At the moment ‘The Birdcage’ in Manchester
Favourite Flames Costume: Depends on the weather!
Favourite Player:  Aaron Moule

2Dance Achievements/ TV Appearances:
Have previously taken part in the pre-match entertainment dancing at Old Trafford at the Super League Grand Final.  It was a great experience to dance in front of a full house on Old Trafford turf, especially as I’m a Man Utd fan as well.  This is probably my favourite cheerleader moment to date because of the atmosphere in the stadium, think the only thing that could beat it is if Salford were to get there!

Chosen to be part of the United Kingdom Dance Team at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd World Championships in 2001 (Tokyo, Japan), 2003 (MEN Arena, Manchester), and 2005 (Tokyo, Japan). It was an amazing experience to represent the UK and a chance to see the sights of Japan as well.

Choreographed the winning cheer dance routine for the 2006 National Competition, which enabled the team to compete at the European Championships in Oslo, Norway - a great accolade and we were 6th, the highest a British dance team has ever been placed at this competition.  Following the more recent 2007competition I am very proud to have choreographed the winning cheer dance and pom routines which enabled us to achieve the famous double victory!  It is the first time the same team has won both sections in 7 years - we are still celebrating back at the Flames camp!  Also :-

  1. Taken part in BBC charity Children in Need shows
  2. Danced for Sky One, Sky Sports, and C4
  3. Ford dancer at the European Champions League Cup Final
  4. Walkabout Bar dancer for Tetleys Super League Promotions North West
  5. TGI Fridays dancer
  6.  Dancer for 2007 Super League launch at the Trafford Centre

Hobbies:
Obviously main passion is dance. I have been dancing since the age of four, gaining many qualifications in ballet, tap, and freestyle.  Love a good night out with the girls and enjoy watching most sports, especially rugby, following the Reds at away fixtures when Flames training permits!  Not much time for anything else!

Embarrassing Moment:
Last season when Sky Sports were filming Ignito running out of the tunnel before the game.  He came charging out and lit his flare only inches from my head nearly setting me alight in full view of all who were watching the game on the TV!  I jumped out of my skin!

I would like to be stranded on a desert island with:     Jesse Metcalfe – yum yum!!
