Things are in motion. The application has finally been approved and work is set to begin on the iconic new City of Salford Stadium in February 2008. This page will chart the progress until the Salford City Reds move to their new home in 2010.

November 2005 - Planning Application approved by Salford City Council

January 2006 - Planning Application called in by Government to face Public Enquiry

July 2006 - Public Enquiry begins

September 2006 - Planning Inspector submits his report

3 November 2006 - Government announces it has approved scheme and Stadium can go ahead.

4 November 2006 - Reds hold press conference to packed room to outline vision for the future

December 2007 - Work finally begins on stages one and two of readying the site
