General Pleased At Grabbed Chances

Salford City Reds Aussie star Luke 'General' Patten was delighted with his two-try contribution to today's big win over Widnes Vikings and feels the win may lift some of the expectation off the Reds in their first season at their new stadium.

"It definately relieves some pressure but it's only one win. We still have plenty to work on," the full-back told reds.co.uk.

"We took our opportunities today and that was important." he said after the Reds had romped in 38 points in a 50 minute scoring spree at the Stobart Stadium.

With much again being made of the Viking's iPitch Patten said: "I thought the pitch was okay. There are a few with plenty of skin off and they picked up some serious injuries which is a worry, but I thought it was okay - beats a wet and muddy pitch any day!"
